2011 Christmas for the Parish Children Pictures

Grand Knight's Letter

My Brother Knights,

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all you who contributed to making the “Back to School BBQ”. Special Thanks to Brother Sam Patti who orchestrated the event. I also want to thank Knights wives and children that participating in making a successful event. The weather cooperated for most of the day and there was a lot of fun had by the parish school families in attendance. I look forward to next year’s event.

Our council hosted the first-degree exemplification ceremony on September 13, where twelve catholic men became knights in our council. I can stress enough that the future of our council is recruitment. From where I stand, is the influx of new knights and with that the flow of new ideas that promote the accomplishment of our council. When you see these men called Knights please welcome them.

Brother Bill Johansen has taking the initiative to draft the budget for Columbian Year 2011– 2012. Brother Bill has provided a balanced budget and we hope to publish it by the October general council meeting. Over the years the budget has provided guidance on charitable contributions for our council.

Oktoberfest 2011

Thanks to all brother Knights for making our 2 annual Oktoberfest a great success. This year we moved to the amphitheater for the band and grass area behind the youth house for the tasting booths. Tom Chin led group of Knight in BBQing (Don Tormey and Richard Azzopardi) and slicing up (Tom Chin and Jack Murphy) over 150 pounds of sausage. Sue Chin, Remy Giaoiran and Mary Rose Azzopardi put a tooth pick in every piece of sausage and cheese. Steve Zalewski and his son Matt baked up hundreds pretzels and handed them out. Last but not forgotten all the Knights, Spouses of Knights and CTK parishioners that poured beer to all the guests. Next year will be even better.
